Life's Obstacles
What will you do when you're faced with life's obstacles? Run and hide or stay and play. I choose to stay and play. I might be joining in on the toughest part of the game, but what if I miss out on the funnest part, or the most interesting part. Who can tell from the outside looking in? Not me. Although the obstacle may be confusing or a bit difficult, I guarantee that I will have made up a strategy to overcome it not only this time but all the rest to come. I wouldn't be able to handle the suspense if I walked away. Whether it would have turned out great or horrible. So I choose to walk right into it, not even looking back. I'll let you know how it turns out.

The Cookie Thief
I read this in Mike Murdock's book, "The Cookie Thief".
A woman was waiting at an airport one night, with several long hours before her flight. She hunted for a book in the airport shop, bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop. She was engrossed in her book, but happened to see that the man beside her, as bold as could be grabbed a cookie or two from the bag between, which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene. She read, munched cookies, and watched the clock, as the gutsy "cookie thief"diminished her stock. She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by, thinking, "If I weren't so nice, I'd blacken his eye!" With each cookie she took, he took one too. When only one was left, she wondered what he'd do. With a smile on his face and a nervous laugh, he took the last cookie and broke it in half. He offered her half, as he ate the other. She snatched it from him and thought, "Oh brother, this guy has some nerve and he's also rude. Why, he didn't even show any gratitude!" She boarded the plane and sank in her seat, then sought her book, which was almost complete. As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise: There was her bag of cookies in front of her eyes! "If mine are here,"she moaned with despair, "then the others were his, and he tried to share!" Too late to apologize, she realized with grief, that she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief. Did this story reveal the state of your generosity?

The Making Of A Champion
I often read books by Mike Murdock. He wrote a book called, "The Making of A Champion", in this book I have found several keys that I live by, can I share? Winning doesn't start around you- it begins INSIDE you. Failure is merely an opinion. You will never be promoted until you become over-qualified for your present position. Stop asking yourself questions you do not have answers for. Every champion must be willing to believe in his own dream when others seem too busy to uncaring to encourage him. Every man fails. Champions simply get back up and begin again. Boldly protect your ears and life from absorbing talk that does not edify and build. Failure cannot happen in your life without permission. All men fall. The great ones get back up. Champions do not become champions in the ring. They are merely recognized in the ring. Their becoming, happens in their daily routine. If you happen to read these, I hope that they are as inspirational to you as they are to me.
What's The Hurry?
What's the hurry? you ask. I suppose deadlines and cutoffs, to-do-lists and chores, errands and homework, housework and dinner. What's the hurry? you ask. The kids need you, your sisters calling, can you babysit?, can my doggie come over for a play date, what about the project that's due tomorrow, or the project due on Wednesday, how about the bills and don't forget the moving date. What's the hurry? you ask. Is it possibly the refrigerator's empty, who will grocery shop, MOM! we're out of shampoo, the Christmas Parties next week, what will I wear, you need something too honey. What's the hurry? you ask. Maybe I should take it easy, maybe I shouldn't worry, but if I don't which one of you will.

Yeserday's Gone
It's over and gone. There's nothing YOU or I can do about it now. We might as well use it as a stepping stone. That will definately determine its value. O.K. so it was terrible, horrible or even tragic. It's over. The best is yet to come. Your stepping stones will help you find your way, they will help lift you higher so that you can reach, they will help you find your way, they will identify the path you will use to get there. Your journey does depend on how many stones you will follow. The more experience, the more stones and the better your chances of getting there safe and sound will be. These stones should never be overlooked or taken for granted, they are your friends. Lay them nicely, lay them neatly because those that follow after you may have to use them. Be willing to lend them and be willing to loan them, don't ever sell them though, they couldn't be worth all of the money in the world. If you must go back to them, you must, the rule must be that you only go back to reflect and let them help you remember the way, but promise that you'll never use them twice for the same thing. Stones are more and more precious as time goes on, make sure you look at them and admire them oftern

Saturday Mornina
I CAN'T SLEEP!! There's so much to do in so little time. Could I possibly add another thing to my list without crumbling. Midterms are coming, oops, midterms are here. Between studying and projects, which comes first. Life's demands, house or home, kids or husband, who can decide? I've made my list but still can't sleep, not enough time, not enough hours. I assume that with a cup of tea and a warm blanket on my feet I'd be able to think much clearer. I must go so that I can clear my head. I have 12 things on my list that need to be done before noon. I'm on a race against time I suppose. What if I sit here for another hour or so doing nothing at all except what I feel like doing, not just what needs to be done. Wow, what I thought, don't worry I've pulled it down, it no longer exists. Back to NEED!! I will have to run so that at least 5 things can get done. By the way, thanks for lending an ear or an eye or which ever you prefer.

Me Again
What is Stress? Stress is not knowing where you're going until you get there. It's waiting until the last minute. It's counting on someone other than yourself. It's having to repeat something over and over again. It's poor management of time. It's procrastination. It's also seeing things that really are not. It's hearing with your emotions rather than your ears. It's being constipated. It's stopping someone else from being all they can be. It's anticipating without being realistic. It's overworking yourself for no apparent reason. It's scattered thoughts. It's a life without to-do-lists. It's not letting others know how you feel. It's keeping track of lies and deceit. It's making it to the end but never really achieving anything. It's lack of accomplishment. It's something I must choose not to fellowship with!!!

Just Because
May your life be filled with new experiences and exciting challenges. May you see every opportunity as a chance to earn a trophy. May you never be so overwhelmed that you allow yourself to sink. May you make a joyful noise after each and every triumph. May the many dark things in your life urge you to seek the light so that you can hold your head up high. May your smile be as real as the sun's warm rays. May your laughter touch those around you and be contagious. May your life encourage other's to live their's to the fullest. May the sad times be times that you can reflect on and never shed a tear. May those around you be drawn to you and the steadfastness in your walk. May your confidence radiate and infultrate. May you never stop dreaming, dream of your future, dream of tomorrow, dream happy thoughts, dream high, dream low, just dream and watch out for dream stealers, they are out there. May you walk with your head up high always looking to the future. May you seek out the best and use the worst as foot stones. May you be all you can be and more, possibly even a bag of chips! Don't stay where you are at, don't stay where you are going, just keep moving, take a journey, a journey with no end. Who says you have to stop? They lied.
